Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) - Jeera, Comino

Cumin is the seed of an umbellifereous plant (umbrella shaped) similar to cow parsley. It has an earthy, pungent, aromatic flavour which is slightly bitter but not hot.
It is available in whole form or as a ground spice.
